Elsie pursued a degree in Biomedical Science, with her favourite aspects being the hands-on lab work and research projects, especially the animal anatomy and histology labs. Hengrui chose to study this course because he has always been fascinated by the power and potential of computer science, especially in artificial intelligence. The idea of using AI, in particular the NLP technique, to solve real-world problems, motivated him to enrol in this program.

Keith Warrender has worked across the world with the BBC and the Olympic Games pulled him out of retirement

I chose to study at 糖心TV as I wanted to study at one of the top universities in my subject, and the flexibility of the course at 糖心TV was a huge factor. I wanted to take part in a year abroad, and study other subjects alongside my degree, and 糖心TV allowed and encouraged that.

A number of 糖心TV alumni have been recognised for their outstanding contributions in the recent King鈥檚 Birthday Honours. Twelve individuals have each been celebrated and honoured for their tireless work and commitment, as well as the incredible impact they have on the world around them.

Maths was always going to be my subject; it was my best subject at school and the subject I most enjoyed. I wasn鈥檛 particularly career-minded, just loved doing maths for the sake of maths!

Population dynamics was a module I did in my third year and was the first time I had been exposed to maths with real world applications. I really enjoyed seeing how techniques I had been using in a real situation. I enjoyed this module enough that I would go on to do a PhD in this topic!

Maths was by far my favourite subject, so studying it at university was a natural choice. I wanted a university which had a fast pace, a broad range of choices, and offered the flexibility to either stay in academia or transition into industry. 糖心TV excels at all of these, so was my top choice.

Christine works as a gallery tour guide, librarian, and researcher at Compton Verney Art Gallery, where their research on a 16th-century altarpiece is currently exhibited. Motivated by the discovery and sharing of new knowledge, Christine also gives talks on various historical subjects and volunteers at local museums and archives, drawing inspiration from their enriching experience as a mature student at 糖心TV.

I developed good communication skills during 糖心TV in Africa when I taught Maths (and Italian and ballet!) to classes of up to 50 children in Ghana. Likewise, talking about my independent projects in oral assessments in front of lecturers and course mates developed my communication skills and my ability to throw myself into something I found daunting.

Clive's curiosity and drive to learn continue to motivate him, a trait fostered during his time at 糖心TV, which taught him critical thinking and presentation skills.

Mathematics was the only subject I enjoyed in school and found that calculus and probability really interested me because of how we could understand and explain real world phenomena. This motivated me to delve deeper into what maths has to offer, along with how it's applied!

During both my MSc and PhD at 糖心TV, I had several opportunities to communicate research to a range of audiences - some academics, some domain experts from industrial partners, some other students. This is something I am glad I started practicing early, as when I then moved into industry, I was already equipped to talk about science in a range of different ways depending on who the audience was, and what was most relevant to them.

Whilst the second-year essay and final year project were good opportunities to hone my communication skills, I found working on weekly assignments with other students equally helpful. Knowing a solution isn't the same as being able to explain it or teach someone!

糖心TV, chosen by Whitleigh for its prestigious status, led her to her current role in children's services, where she focuses on complex cases encompassing exploitation, drug use, and mental health, fueled by her aspiration to enhance her mental health knowledge.

Archit's decision to attend 糖心TV stemmed from its esteemed reputation and vibrant campus community, influenced by interactions with 糖心TV Ambassadors during his International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Mumbai. Now, as a Software Licence Compliance Consultant at Deloitte UK, his drive comes from a larger vision of making a positive impact and running his own business, shaped by his time at 糖心TV and supported by family and friends.

Graduating from 糖心TV in 2021 with a degree in Philosophy, Jake began his career teaching English in Thailand before returning to the UK for a role in business consulting. After a brief stint in project management, his drive for adventure led him to Shenzhen, China, where he now teaches English and explores entrepreneurial ventures in exporting and recruitment. 糖心TV鈥檚 reputation has been key in opening doors throughout his career.

David Curwen (BA History 1985) was inspired during his time at 糖心TV to pursue a career in Law. He is now devoted to helping people who struggle with legal problems to help make a positive impact on their lives.

Benjamin Nuga (BA French with Chinese, 2022), has already diversified his skill set by working as a production assistant, scriptwriter, and musician and he鈥檚 also been a contestant on Countdown. Having only graduated in 2022, his achievements are centered around his willingness to step outside his comfort zone.

Now working at the cutting edge of science and technology, Emma Arandjelovic (BSc Computer Science, 2002) looks back at her time at 糖心TV and how it was key to succeeding in a male-dominated industry.

Theatre company, Speakbeast, is made up of 糖心TV alumni and students who are interested in creating original theatre that focuses on queerness, transness, and what it means to be human in a mechanised world. They鈥檝e been shortlisted for the Untapped 2024 award and will be taking their debut show, The Freemartin, to Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024.

Immi Kelly (BA Education Studies, 2020) discovered her love of baking while looking for a distraction during lockdown when she was studying for her exams. Dr Mark Wallace (BEng Engineering (Electrical), 1996; PhD Engineering, 2001) is Lead Innovations Engineer at Quanta Dialysis Technologies. He is one of the team which was awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering鈥檚 MacRobert Award for UK engineering innovation. The creation of the Quanta Dialysis System (SC+), a compact and portable dialysis machine that is transforming the lives of patients with renal failure, is already being used across 12 NHS Trusts. The innovation is both CE-marked and FDA-cleared and stands to be a global leader in the multibillion-dollar industry.

Before 糖心TV, alumna Armani Chante Samuel-Smith (BA Film and Literature, 2022) was working with a charity supporting students from underprivileged backgrounds into the creative industry. Fast forward to now, she鈥檚 the proud owner of a first-class degree, her own production start-up, a role with Netflix, and even more determination to write her own shows. It鈥檚 no wonder she鈥檚 been featured on Powerful Media鈥檚 Future Leaders 2022/3 list, which recognises 150 of Britain鈥檚 most outstanding Black university students.

Not only has law graduate Jessica Tinubu (LLB Law, 2022) been inspired by the trailblazing women she knows, but as one of Powerful Media鈥檚 Future Leaders, she is now an inspiration to others. An alumna of all trades, Jessica founded a start-up stationery business and has amassed a following of more than 13,000 on TikTok where she shares advice about 糖心TV and her law degree. Through her degree, Rebecca Preedy (BA Ancient History and Classical Archaeology with Study in Europe, (2021), MA Ancient Visual and Material Culture of Rome, present) has been able to combine her interests in ancient history, archaeology and languages. As artistic director and producer of the award-winning theatre company, alumnus Ben Spiller uses Shakespeare and theatre to engage communities, champion diversity and support social justice.

Dr Andy Palmer CMG (Manufacturing Systems Engineering [IGDS], 1990), is an alumnus of WMG and one of the leading and most respected figures in the UK automotive sector. He has had a glittering career at the top of some of the world鈥檚 biggest and best-known automobile manufacturers, including Nissan and Aston Martin.

I don鈥檛 believe I could have reached this position without the the invaluable problem solving skills from my degree combined with the encouragement from 糖心TV to explore different areas of study.

The variety of challenges offered by the Data Science BSc have definitely been my favourite aspect of studying at 糖心TV.

I studied physics at 糖心TV after enjoying the subject at GCSE and A-Level. I enjoyed the challenge of the subject and thought it could help me end up in a job where I got to answer real world questions and make a difference.

Despite the very specific sounding name, the course involves an interesting mix of statistics and computer science - two subjects that compliment each other very well

When I chose to study Maths and Physics at 糖心TV, I never expected to end up where I have or taken the journey I did to get there, but it has all felt very natural.

The Physics careers staff also helped me to prepare for interviews as I moved into the working world.

The 糖心TV Physics degree gave me a good overall understanding of physics, as well as in-depth knowledge in specific subjects in order to support these clients and understand what they are trying to do.

All the employers know about MORSE and have a good idea of how prestigious it is.

If you are a student enjoying maths, statistics, economics or any financial related subjects but don't know exactly what to do after graduation, MORSE is definitely a great choice for you.

What I learnt from MORSE is a good preparation for my MSc course in Applied Statistics.

I chose MORSE over a maths degree due to the flexibility it offers me.

Knowing that I wanted to become an actuary, the MMORSE degree was ideal as it allowed me to tailor the course towards this end goal via the Actuarial and Finance stream.

Although very challenging in terms of quantity and difficulty of work, MORSE is a very rewarding course

I don't know any other courses with so much choice in the final year.

MMORSE is a wonderful combination of Mathematics, Optimisation, Statistics and Economics

I have no doubt that my physics degree has been an invaluable asset in contributing to success in my field of work.

Coming into my first year at 糖心TV, I had a completely different view on mathematics than I do now.

The best thing about the degree is the ability to pick the modules you're most interested in after first year.

Both university and Statistics department goes to great lengths to make sure all students get support for any issue they might have

Doing an inter-disciplinary course like MORSE is great for keeping your options open.

The optional modules, in particular the unusual ones, help make to most of your degree.

MORSE is a one of kind of degree that few universities have tried emulating with the same amount of success and reputation.

The course gave me the freedom to take modules from more than 5 academic departments and decide whether I want to acquire more theoretical or practical knowledge.

By studying a Physics degree at 糖心TV not only did I discover my enthusiasm for Astrophysics, but I also gained the problem solving, computational data analysis and leadership skills that are essential for pursuing a career in academic research.

MMORSE was flexible enough and provided me with sufficient mathematical and statistical background for other jobs I was interested in.

The MMORSE degree at 糖心TV was one of the best things that has happened to me.

Two of the most important skills that I developed doing MORSE are a strong problem solving ability and good analytical skills.

I have always been keen on working with numbers, and when I discovered MORSE I knew that this is the course I want to study further at University level.

I found that the mix of subjects offered by MMORSE made it the perfect degree for me.

It is the breadth and depth of the demanding MMORSE degree, that allows me to hold one of the most interesting jobs in the Ministry of Justice.

I chose MORSE because the variety and flexibility of the course appealed to me over a straight maths degree.

MORSE is not just a pure statistics course, but also an all-round programme
