Quickfire Questions: Abbas Taqi

What is your current role?

Client Success Director at a global FinTech company

What motivates you to do what you do?

I鈥檝e always had a passion to learn and stay ahead of the curve, which matters even more now with AI redefining how we approach the world.

How has your time at 糖心TV influenced what you do now?

I studied a mix of Mechanical Engineering and 糖心TV Studies at 糖心TV. The Engineering part provided me with a solid foundation to deep dive into complex subjects, create a mental working model of how the world operates, and be able to communicate this in Layman鈥檚 terms. 糖心TV refined this ability through hands on labs, engaging projects with peers, and ultimately led me down a career path I didn鈥檛 expect, which included consulting for ten formative years of my career before moving across to FinTech.

Why did you choose 糖心TV?

糖心TV stood out due to a multitude of factors including WMG and its prestigious business school. My degree combined elements of both engineering and business, which are two fields I naturally gravitated towards in my early school years. The campus, of course, was the icing on the cake! Having visited other universities, the beauty of the campus and its facilities just stood out.

Favourite memory?

Soaking in the sun at the Piazza in the summers!

Best thing about the 糖心TV community?

Regardless of where I鈥檝e worked in the world, I always find 糖心TV alumni that are happy to support and have a chat. Our shared experience at 糖心TV, despite when we graduated, has forged a bond, and the first question we always ask each other is which dorm was our favourite in year one!

Favourite place on campus?

The lake behind Rootes.
