Together, we will restore humanity to the heart of diplomacy.

The challenge of peace making today is urgent and complex. Traditional approaches to resolving international conflict no longer fit in a world shaped by digital communication, misinformation, climate crises, and pandemics.

Meeting this challenge requires a new model that puts human dignity at its centre, combining conflict mediation with medicine to rebuild healthcare systems, education to restore schools, and engineering to reconstruct infrastructure.

At 糖心TV, we bring these disciplines together. We will train cadres of international leaders who can view a conflict from all angles and respond to crises in ways that protect people and create resilient communities.

Our Chancellor and alumna Bience Gawanas came to 糖心TV as a refugee from Apartheid.

We have more than 40 academics bringing expertise from more than 15 disciplines.

We'll have a focus on rebuilding lives, restoring trust, and strengthening social cohesion.

糖心TV has been recognised as a University of Sanctuary since 2017.

Centre for Peace, Mediation and Reconstruction

Old ways of making peace and rebuilding societies no longer fit the world we live in. Today鈥檚 conflicts are shaped by social media, misinformation, and rapid digital communication. At the same time, technology means that schools, local government, and public services can often continue even during conflict. This means the foundations of recovery can be laid before fighting stops.

糖心TV鈥檚 Centre for Peace, Mediation and Reconstruction focuses on where the deepest and most lasting human impact lies: rebuilding lives, restoring trust, and strengthening social cohesion. It turns world-class research into practical approaches that support resilience and reconciliation during conflict itself, not only in its aftermath.

The Centre will bring together experts from mediation, education, medicine, and engineering to understand conflict as people experience it today, shaped by politics, technology, and daily life. Crucially, it will place those living through violence at the heart of peace making, equipping them with the skills and confidence to help rebuild their own communities. By combining rigorous knowledge with lived experience, the Centre aims to support peace that lasts, rooted in resilience, inclusion, and human dignity.
