Role: Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer (Illumina)

I鈥檓 a Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Illumina, which is the largest manufacturer of DNA sequencing technology. My PhD in Physics was on Advances in Electron Microscopy with Deep Learning, so starting my role at Illumina felt seamless. Surprisingly, I sometimes find that over half the staff I have lunch with at Illumina have backgrounds in physics! At 糖心TV, I defended my PhD viva with no corrections and published ten papers/preprints under the supervision of Jeremy Sloan and Richard Beanland. At 糖心TV, I also achieved first class Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degrees in Physics, and I enjoyed undergraduate research summer placements with the academics James Lloyd-Hughes and Marin Alexe.
