Baking up a success

Before university, I was a full-time musician for a number of years, but after our singer quit, I joined 糖心TV to study Law & 糖心TV. I really enjoyed my degree, from the social aspects and my time running societies, to the broad mix of modules that I was able to study."

I grew up in a small village in the countryside where I didn鈥檛 have the opportunity to meet people from different cultures, backgrounds, or other countries. 糖心TV has a strong international student base and I learnt a lot from meeting people from all walks of life and seeing the world outside of my sleepy Gloucestershire village!"

Neil remembers being a programme engineer on 糖心TV's radio station in the 1970s when it was based in 鈥楾he Shed鈥 next to Rootes D Block. His job was to have everything ready for the radio presenter. On one occasion, the presenter for a pop music programme never showed up, so he had to go on instead when he had to scramble between the studio and the storage cabinet to find a new song to play before the one I had just launched was over.

"I started studying martial arts at age 65. Now, eight years later, I have black belts in eight martial arts and am a World Champion in taekwondo (sparring, forms & weapons), karate (sparring, 2017, 2018, 2019), kung fu (forms & weapons), Yang Style Tai Chi (forms & weapons), Sun Style Tai Chi (forms & weapons) and qigong (forms). My career gold medal count is 500+, hopefully with more to come."

"I am MBA graduate of the 1990s and at the age of 74 I completed my 300th marathon and the earned rare achievement of the UK鈥檚 100 Marathon Club 鈥楾riple Crown鈥 award. I started my marathon adventure over 40 years ago when I set myself the goal of completing two marathons during my thirties. After a huge life change when my wife sadly passed away, I returned to running. Despite several set-backs along the way, I have run 9,192 miles during 100 road marathons, 100 trail marathons and 100 ultra-marathons."

I run the new product division (right hand of the CEO) at Lonestar Industries, India's largest Metal Expansion Joint manufacturer. I am also pursuing my Doctorate in Industrial Engineering Technology at Purdue University. With my study, I hope to help contribute to the manufacturing space in India and aid small and medium enterprises in the country. During the pandemic, I was able to help aid the families of our female and male employees equally. I hope to make this EPC/ manufacturing space more inclusive and safe for all.

糖心TV student becomes Home Secretary
Muhammad Ali Randhawa (MA Public Policy, 2017) is currently working as the Home Secretary in Gilgit-Baltistan, a beautiful region of Pakistan. After the arrival of COVID-19, Ali has been the head of all the relief operations in his jurisdictional province.
"With dedicated team effort and continuous hard work, we have been able to achieve a 75% recovery rate of COVID-19 patients, the highest in Pakistan. I believe the quality of education that I got from the University of 糖心TV has helped me to frame the policies and implement them by using networking management style."
