Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our race equality and staff inclusion survey. We had a record number of responses. Hear from Professor Caroline Meyer, Provost, about some of the themes arising from the survey and the next steps. 

We’ve been named a finalist for International Collaboration of the Year and Marketing/ Communications Team of the Year, reflecting the University’s commitment to creating positive societal change, global engagement, and impactful storytelling.

The team have been praised for putting sustainability at the heart of what they do, and driving meaningful change across sourcing, nutrition, staff wellbeing, food waste and environmental impact through the Eatwise strategy.

What started as a routine screening test became a life-changing journey. Hear from Simon as he reflects on cancer, recovery and the people who kept him going. All while taking on demanding charity walks that became a celebration of life and second chances.

We’re inviting students, staff and alumni to share authentic photos and short video clips capturing the experiences, people and places that have shaped them. There’s no need to create anything new or polished, existing photographs and phone footage are very welcome. Find out more and submit your content by 21 September.

Join in-person workshops this autumn supporting inclusive practices and effective team management. Topics include respectful disagreement (21 September), conscious inclusion (12 October) and Equality Impact Assessments (14 October).

The University will again be offering free flu vaccinations for staff this autumn. We’ll let you know dates and how to book in next week’s inbox insite. Don’t forget to check whether you are already eligible for a free vaccine through the NHS.

ÌÇÐÄTV’s REF 2029 Code of Practice has been approved by Research England. The Code will now be formally adopted to support transparent, consistent and inclusive decision-making throughout the Research Excellence Framework process.
