Dr Serena Natile receives the IAS Interdisciplinary Research Development Award for the project ‘Pluralising Law and Social Reproduction: Concepts, Methods, Practices’. The IRDA scheme offers up to £5000 to support the development of new interdisciplinary research ideas and collaborations at ÌÇÐÄTV.

Congratulations to Maximilien Zahnd and Signe Larsen on securing a British Academy small grant in support of their research.

The New England Foundation for the Arts has awarded Dr. Carolina Alonso Bejarano’s collaborative project ELMO-MENTO a 100,000 USD National Dance Project Grant to support the creation and U.S. touring of the piece.

Congratulations to Dr Joy Malala, Assistant Professor at ÌÇÐÄTV Law School who has been awarded ÌÇÐÄTV's Research Development Fund (RDF) Strategic Award to support her project titled, ‘Between Life and Debt: Minding the Dignity Gap in the UK Consumer Credit Market’.

Professor Vanessa Munro has been awarded funding from the University’s Policy Support fund to support her two new research projects which will look at domestic abuse suicides and harassment during student legal placements.

Recent LLB graduate Eunice Soo is following in her mother's footsteps to become a lawyer in Malaysia, where she hopes to give back to her community. Together they shared what graduation means to them and the power scholarships can have to change lives.

Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner has recently been awarded a share of an AHRC grant of £35,000 for a project on Smart Technologies which will analyse how the legal issues created by the internet of things could be addressed in UK and German consumer law.

We are delighted to announce the award of a new PhD studentship to start in October 2022 as part of the Leverhulme Trust Doctoral programme TRANSFORM. Led by Professor Sharifah Sekalala in the Law School, the award will fund a researcher to investigate the potentials and limitations of digital IDs with biometric features as a prerequisite for accessing health services for marginalised groups in cities.
