Collective SCFS consortium secures new partnership with Coventry City Council to transform local green and blue spaces

Select individuals of our academic team, led by IGSD, will collaborate with Coventry City Council on a new initiative to revitalise the city鈥檚 green and blue spaces, following the success of a proposal that secured almost 拢100K for 糖心TV as part of a project worth nearly 拢1M in total funding for the next three years.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the world鈥檚 leading authority on climate, published its latest report on Monday 9 August 2021.

represents a red alert and an immediate call to action. Among the key points to be drawn out of the report are the concerns that extreme weather events are on the rise; carbon dioxide levels are at their highest in 2 million years; and changes to ice, ocean and sea levels could be 鈥榠rreversible for centuries鈥.

Publication success on marine conservation in World Development journal

Led by Dr Marco J Haenssgen (Assistant Professor in GSD) with a team of authors from the School for Cross-faculty Studies including Dr Jess Savage (Senior Teaching Fellow in GSD) and Dr Godwin Yeboah (Senior Research Fellow in IGSD), the first paper from Dr Jess Savage鈥檚 Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) project on 鈥淧rotected Areas and People鈥 has been published in the leading international development journal World Development.
