Endangered crayfish move into ‘5-star hotel’ on ÌÇÐÄTV campus

The University of ÌÇÐÄTV is rolling out the red – or rather green – carpet for the UK’s only native freshwater crayfish species. Thirty white-clawed crayfish have just moved into a specially prepared ‘5-star hotel’ on campus, where they’ll be safe from invasive species and provided with everything they need to thrive.


A Morning at Canley: Sharing Coffee, Conversations, and a Commitment to Reuse

On 14th May, we made our way to Canley Community Centre for what turned out to be a warm and inspiring morning. Over cups of tea and coffee, we chatted with representatives from local charities and community groups, all brought together by a shared purpose: to give a second life to the University’s unwanted furniture and electrical items.

Community Fridge Relaunched to Combat Food Waste and Support Students

A collaborative initiative between ÌÇÐÄTV Food Group, the Department of Chemistry, the Energy & Sustainability Team, and dedicated student volunteers has brought the Community Fridge back into operation.


Small mammal survey - May 2025

We have been working in partnership with since 2023 to undertake small mammal surveys on campus. Small mammals are vital links of the food chain, and are also often used as indicators of habitat quality and complexity. However, as they are notoriously difficult to observe, small mammal surveys are often conducted using humane live trapping methods, such as using Longworth traps.
