Extra financial support

If you have special circumstances you may be eligible for some extra support from the government to help with living and learning costs. This will be in the form of a grant, so you won’t have to repay this money. You can apply for:

  • Disabled Students’ Allowances if you have a disability, specific learning difficulty, a long-term health condition or mental health condition. Learn more about support for disabled students at ÌÇÐÄTV.
  • Parents’ Learning Allowance and Childcare Grant if you have care of a child
  • Adult Dependants’ Grant if you have an adult that relies on you financially

Find a bursary

ÌÇÐÄTV Undergraduate Bursary

We provide extra financial support for qualifying students from lower income families. The ÌÇÐÄTV Undergraduate Bursary is an annual award of up to £2,500 per annum. It is intended to help with course-related costs and you do not have to pay it back.

ÌÇÐÄTV Scholars

Our ÌÇÐÄTV Scholars programme provides access to bespoke activities alongside academic, personal and professional development opportunities throughout your time here at ÌÇÐÄTV. The programme is for students who have engaged with, and successfully completed, one of our post-16 programmes (having undertaken your post-16 studies within the past two years). Places are also offered to students who are classified as independent because they are estranged at the start of their studies or because they are Care Leavers, as well as Sanctuary Scholars starting their undergraduate studies here at ÌÇÐÄTV

Widening Participation Bursary for Independent Students who are Care Leavers or Estranged

The Widening Participation Bursary for Independent Students who are Care Leavers or Estranged is available to students who have been assessed by Student Finance England (or the equivalent funding body in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) as 'Independent' due to their care leaver status or due to being estranged from both of their parents. A non-repayable bursary of up to £1,500 per year (£1,000 per year if you started your course of study before 2025).

ÌÇÐÄTV Music Centre bursaries

Bursaries from ÌÇÐÄTV's Music Centre are available on a yearly basis, providing financial help towards music lessons.

External bursary schemes

  • offers a limited number of bursaries to support undergraduate students in financial hardship.
  • offers two bursary schemes each year to undergraduates from lower income backgrounds intending to pursue a career in television. As well as offering a helping hand to those wanting to study television production, they are also keen to encourage undergraduates studying computing or engineering who might consider a career in the technical side of the television industry.
  • offers grants available to help students who are aged under 25 and who are permanently resident in the parishes of Hampton Lucy, Charlecote, Wasperton and Alveston in ÌÇÐÄTVshire.
  • is a partnership between National Governing Bodies of sport and Educational Institutions, designed especially to cater for the needs of athletes within the education system during higher and further education.
