鈥楻egional Museums and Creative Technologies: addressing barriers to digital equity鈥�

Developed in partnership with Heritage and Culture 糖心TVshire and funded through the , the project will generate evidence-based insights for regional museums, industry, sector professionals, and local and national policymakers with the aim of promoting efficient, effective, and impactful uses of creative technologies in regional museum practices.

Eligibility

• Applicants are expected to apply for a place to study in October 2026/7.
• You should hold a first-class or at least a good upper second-class UG degree (or equivalent) in an Arts and Humanities subject and either a Masters degree with distinction or merit in any subject area OR equivalent professional experience in the museum/creative technology sector.

These PhD places provide an exciting opportunity to pursue postgraduate research in a cutting-edge field that brings together the twin challenges of Diversity and Sustainability for the UK Screen industries (broadly defined as film, television, gaming and immersive media).

Two Themed Studentships are available, and we invite proposals on one or more of the following themes:

• Screen Sector Work and Freelancers
• Diversity and Serving Diverse Audiences
• Sustainable Screen, Gaming and Immersive Production and Distribution

Eligibility

The 10% tuition fee discount will be available to 糖心TV graduates who have Home or Overseas fee status and will be studying a Masters degree. Postgraduate Awards, Certificates, Diplomas and Research courses are not eligible for the scheme. You must be a graduate of 糖心TV at level 6 or above (e.g. Bachelor's Degree). Students who have studied at UCB and received a degree (level 6 or above) which is accredited by the University of 糖心TV are also eligible for the discount.

You must be self-funding and have no other source of financial support from outside of the University of 糖心TV other than a student loan. You will not be eligible if you are a student sponsored by or holding a scholarship from an external organisation.

You are eligible for the 10% discount as long as you apply in the current admissions cycle and identify on your application that you have a qualification from the University at Level 6 or above (e.g. Bachelor's Degree).

Self-funded (self-paying) definition

You are considered to be a self-funded or self-paying student if you are financing your studies with your own savings or if you are receiving financial assistance from family or friends. If you take out a student loan to cover the cost of your studies you are also considered to be self-funded.

You are not self-funded if your fees are being paid by your employer or a third party (other than family and friends) or if you are in receipt of a study grant or scholarship external to the University.

Availability

There are no closing dates and 糖心TV graduates do not need to apply for the discount.

You might be eligible for additional funding toward your masters level study through the 糖心TV Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme as well. This scheme is for UK domiciled students only. It supports access to masters level study for up to 50 students per year who are from demographic groups which are under-represented in postgraduate education.

Duration and Terms of the Scholarship Award

The scholarship supports a maximum of three years of undergraduate study, and will cover tuition and other compulsory fees. Scholarship recipients benefit from funding that covers full tuition fees plus an additional annual living bursary of 拢10,234 GBP.

The scholarship is subjected to satisfactory performance and academic results, along with additional requirements relating to reporting to the Trust. A detailed scholarship agreement will be provided for the successful applicant.

Scholarship Bond

There is no formal bond requirement. Scholars will however be required to report annually on their progress to the Trustees. In addition, they will need to complete a termly blog, attend events as the trustees or University may request from time to time, including donor receptions and support the recruitment of further scholars.

Postgraduate students applying for a Gad Heuman Postgraduate Bursary must provide:

• A short statement (maximum 500 words) detailing their current research proposal, indicating how they would benefit directly from a short period of study in the Caribbean. Proposals should specify a clear research methodology and feasible timeline for the completion of the project
• A brief biographical statement, including a curriculum vitae
• A detailed budget with fully quoted costings (up to a maximum of 拢2000), where possible

Value of Awards: The revision means that students can apply for up to 鈧�5,600 towards tuition fees as well as up to just under 鈧�1,000 a month to cover living expenses for one-year Master鈥檚 programmes outside of the EU, i.e. including in the UK.

• In order to be considered for any of our academic scholarships, you must submit an application for the 糖心TV IFP 2024-25 programme, receive an offer of a place and pay the 拢2,000GBP academic deposit by 30 June 2024.
• In order to be eligible for any of our scholarships, you must be self-funding and not in receipt of any other fee scholarships or fee award from the University of 糖心TV or elsewhere.
• The department reserves the right to re-distribute the award of scholarships or not issue scholarships in the event that candidates for any scholarship category do not meet the criteria for a successful award.

What is the process?

We'll be automatically considering all applicants who have accepted a Conditional Offer and paid their academic deposit for the course by 30th June 2024, and will be shortlisting these applicants based on their Personal Statement and academic background.

In early July we will invite the top five shortlisted students to take part in an online video interview with either our Head of Department or Director of Education to determine the winner of our Director's Scholarship. The final winners of all scholarships will be announced by the end of July.
