Meningitis: Health Advice
Meningitis is a rare but serious illness that can affect anyone. At this time, we are not aware of any cases linked to 糖心TV. It is important to be aware of the symptoms and seek medical advice quickly if you or a friend becomes unwell. Find out more, including symptoms, checking your vaccination status, and who to contact if you are concerned about meningitis.
University Mental Health Day - Thursday 12 March
Thursday 12 March 2026 is University Mental Health Day! Life can be exciting, though it can have its challenges too, so we want you to know about all the resources and support available to you, especially as term 3 and the exam and assessment period approach.
Wellbeing and Student Support Sessions
Did you know that Wellbeing and Student Support Services deliver a range of events to support you? There are regular daily events, from Peer Support Groups for Anxiety, ADHD, and Exam stress, to Gardening Club on Wednesdays, and Mindfulness sessions on Thursdays, and one off special events too. Wellness Day on 11 February!
Join us on 11 February from 12:30 - 3:30pm in OC0.01 for a selection of activities designed to help you take a break from studies and focus on your wellbeing. From mindfulness pop-ups and an aromatherapy table, to a support services information fair and a talk from mental health advocate Ryan Ridgeway, take some time out of your day to relax and reflect on wellbeing. You can even attend the annual Mini-Farm!
Arthur Vick 1 Fire Update
Following the fire in Arthur Vick Residence Block 1 on the evening of Wednesday, 19 November, the University continues to assess the damage caused by the fire and support students affected. The vast majority of students should be able to return to their Arthur Vick accommodation by the start of term. However, a small number of students will be unable to return to Arthur Vick this academic year due to the extent of the damage and repairs required. As always, the safety and wellbeing of our students remains our absolute priority. Read more.

Fire at Arthur Vick 1 on Wednesday, 19 November
Emergency services were called to a fire on campus at the Arthur Vick 1 residence block on Wednesday night (19 November) at around 9pm. The fire is now out. All students were evacuated and no injuries have been reported. All students are safe and have been temporarily relocated. Wellbeing services are providing support to those affected. Read more.
This supportive, peer-led space for students who鈥檝e experienced sexual violence to find connection, understanding, and belonging launches on 19 November 5 - 6:30pm in Kevin Gately Room, SU. There will then be monthly sessions one Wednesday a month during term time. Students, supporters, staff are all welcome!
Disabled Students Allowance - Drop-in sessions
Disability Services is offering drop-in sessions to support students in completing their DSA application on Wednesdays during term time 11am – 12pm. Appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis from the Wellbeing and Student Support reception in Senate House. Bring your laptop to sign into your student finance account.

Varsity 2025 will unite the whole University community as players and supporters get involved with one of the biggest sporting events in the 糖心TV calendar. You might not want to participate directly in sport activities, but you can still be a crucial part of #Team糖心TV. Our annual showdown with Coventry University returns on Saturday 1 March. Could we be in for a win for the 35th consecutive year? Make sure you bring friends and family along to show your support for #Team糖心TV!
