Estates Awards 2026: Celebrating excellence across the university
Colleagues from across Estates came together on Friday 27 March for a sparkling evening at The Slate to celebrate this year’s Estates Awards.
Guests enjoyed a red‑carpet welcome, live music and a special message from Vice‑Chancellor Professor Stuart Croft.
The Director’s Recognition Award was presented to Iain Cockcroft, Building Infrastructure Control Manager, praised for his leadership, professionalism and collaborative spirit. His nomination described him as someone who “has shown true leadership, ownership, professionalism and teamwork… Nothing is too much trouble for Iain, and if he can't help, he will always point you in the right direction with a solution.â€
Michael Keenan, Electrical Services Officer, received Highly Commended recognition, recognised as “a true advocate for collaboration… consistently placing the best interests of the department at the forefront of his decisions and actions.â€

Awards throughout the evening celebrated excellence in Estates Values, Sustainability, Innovation & Improvement, Community Engagement and Exceptional Customer Service, with winners including the Campus Cleaning Services – Rootes Accommodation Team, Gardens & Estates Data, Analytics and Insights Team, the Invida Project Team and many more individuals in the spotlight for their extraordinary achievements.
A special commendation also acknowledged the exceptional multi‑team response to the Arthur Vick incident.
