Prior to joining ÌÇÐÄTV, Julian Scholtes spent four years as a Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, teaching across Public Law and EU Law.

Prior to joining ÌÇÐÄTV, Ira Chadha Sridhar was the Hatton-WYNG Junior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. During her Fellowship, she worked on a book, while also teaching Jurisprudence and Tort Law to undergraduate students.

Prior to joining ÌÇÐÄTV, Jiajun Luo was a Hauser Global Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU School of Law where he developed research projects on legal empowerment and access to justice, courts and judicial governance, and the growing use of technology in legal institutions.

Prior to joining ÌÇÐÄTV, Katie Morris was working as a lecturer at Lancaster University convening the Equity & Trusts Law module, as well as teaching on Land Law and International Law.

The Law School is delighted to announce that Jason Beer KC has been made an Honorary Professor of Law with effect from 1 August 2026 for a period of three years.

Prior to joining ÌÇÐÄTV, Alex Powell was an Associate Professor in Law at Oxford Brookes University, where he also acted as Director of the LLM Programmes.

Achas Burin joins us from Oxford Brookes University where she taught tort and medical law and developed a book proposal based on her PhD.

As we prepare to welcome our new and returning students for Term 1, we would like to wish a warm welcome to our new colleagues, congratulations to staff commencing secondment opportunities, and a fond farewell to those we have had to say goodbye to.

Writing Wrongs is a writing programme for local Year 12 and 13 students which supports young writers from widening participation backgrounds to explore issues related to social justice and to improve their storytelling and writing skills. ÌÇÐÄTV has retained sixth place position in the latest University rankings. The Daily Mail University Guide 2026 highlighted excellence in graduate salaries, support for students to achieve high-skilled jobs, and research quality.

Yomi Adegoke, who studied on our 3 year LLB degree and graduated in 2014 has made the University Challenge 2024 Christmas special line-up. Journalist and author Yomi, whose debut novel ‘Slay In Your Lane’ was adapted into TV programme ‘The List’ will join three other ÌÇÐÄTV alumni to fight for the title of Christmas champions. Don't miss the University Challenge Christmas series, starting on 23 December at 8.30pm on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two.
