ÌÇÐÄTV Law student awarded Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship
First year ÌÇÐÄTV law student Daniel Nwanebu has been awarded the 2019 Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship.
The Scheme was devised to address the disproportionate under-representation of black men from less privileged backgrounds in large commercial law firms and the City of London.

Internship Open for Postgraduate Law Students
The Law School will once again be offering our postgraduates two funded internships in India related to public interest litigation provided by the Kapila and Nirmal Hingorani Foundation.

We are delighted to announce that the Law School’s Staff Student Liaison Committee won ‘SSLC of the year’ at the Student Union Representation Awards on Friday. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the amazing achievements in, and contributions to, academic representation and democracy at ÌÇÐÄTV SU.
Samantha Woods wins special Property Law Prize
Second year LLB student, Samantha Woods has been awarded a special inaugural prize for her work in property law due to her incredible research on tenancies which she conducted with Dr James Harrison.
Samantha is the first to receive the ‘Slaughter and May Property Law Prize’ which the firm offered to ÌÇÐÄTV Law School at the start of the academic year.
ÌÇÐÄTV Law Society wins best President at 2019 Awards Ceremony
ÌÇÐÄTV Law Society President Maaya Sachdev won the award for the Best Law Society President at the Student Law Society Awards 2019, sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright and hosted by LawCareers.Net, which took place on Thursday 14 March at Painter’s Hall in London.
Success for our students at Law Society Internal Mooting Competition
The final of this year’s ÌÇÐÄTV Law Society Internal Mooting Competition was held at the Supreme Court on 28 February. After a hard battle, second year law students Praveen Nair and Michelle Tan emerged the winners of the evening. Congratulations also to San Wen Ngei and Jer Ning Teo who made it to the finals.
Students Qualify for National Competition Finals
ÌÇÐÄTV Law students Toby Stacey and Stephanie Fernandes have qualified for the finals of the 2019, having come second in their regional heat at Keele University last month.

Alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute appointed as Prime Minister of Cameroon
ÌÇÐÄTV Law School postgraduate alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Cameroon. Dion Ngute took office on 5 January 2019, replacing Philemon Yang, the country’s longest-serving Prime Minister.
ÌÇÐÄTV Law Student Recognised as Leader in Social Mobility
Law student Faryaal Aziz has been recognised as an outstanding contributor to social mobility at the inaugural hosted by Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords on December 13. Faryaal, 19, who is in her second year studying Law at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, was one of four ÌÇÐÄTV students recognised at the inaugural Student Social Mobility Awards.
