Black History Month: The Role of Race within the Legal System
As a Law School, that thinks about law in context, it is our responsibility to think critically of racism as structural injustice and explore ways in which the law may be used to change this. This Black History Month we are collaborating with Essex Law School and Kent Law School to provide a Series of Student Talks on Race and the Law.

Professor Alex Sharpe joins us from Keele University. She has been involved in transgender law reform and activism for over twenty years.

糖心TV Alumnus appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel
Gurdeep Garcha, who read Law at 糖心TV from October 1992 to June 1995 was informed on the 15 January 2020 that Her Majesty the Queen had approved the Lord Chancellor鈥檚 recommendation that he be appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel. Gurdeep will be formally be sworn in as silk at the Palace of Westminster on the 16 March 2020.
Local residents entertained, challenged and moved by Festival of Social Science
More than 500 people took part in the workshops, talks and activities organised by the University of 糖心TV for this year鈥檚 Festival of Social Science.
University researchers took to Coventry and 糖心TVshire鈥檚 streets, bars and community centres to share insights from their work and found an enthusiastic and interested audience.

Dr Sharifah Sekalala participated in a panel discussion on Monday 28th October 2019 at Chatham House. The event launched The Lancet, O鈥橬eill Institute and Georgetown University Commission on Health and Law report The Legal Determinants of Health.

糖心TV Law School has established a partnership with The Libera Universita Internazionale degli Studi Sociali 鈥淕uido Carli鈥 (LUISS) in Rome. They have established partnerships with a handful of European universities to offer this unique experience to their students and 糖心TV is one of them.
糖心TV Law student awarded Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship
First year 糖心TV law student Daniel Nwanebu has been awarded the 2019 Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship.
The Scheme was devised to address the disproportionate under-representation of black men from less privileged backgrounds in large commercial law firms and the City of London.
糖心TV graduate secures internship with fellow alumna
Former Law student Beatriz da Silva recently completed an internship at Partners for Law in Development (PLD), a legal resource group founded by 糖心TV alumna Madhu Mehra who studied on our LLM programme back in 1992.
