We are pleased to announce that Dr Laura Lammasniemi released a new book on March 26 2018.

Laura, Assistant Professor at 糖心TV Law School, offers a helping hand with her new book, 鈥Law Dissertations: A Step-by-Step Guide鈥, which provides all the direction and information needed to complete and succeed in an LLB, LLM or law-related dissertation.

Vanessa Munro鈥檚 project on jury decision-making for the Scottish Government has hit its first milestone. An Evidence Review on The Impact of the Use of Pre-Recorded Evidence on Juror Decision-Making has now been published on the Scottish Government website, along with a research findings summary.

Professor Sol Picciotto Appointed Honorary Professor with the GLOBE Centre
The GLOBE Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Sol Picciotto as an Honorary Professor with the Centre. Professor Picciotto is emeritus professor of Lancaster University. He is currently Senior Fellow at the and a Senior Adviser of the Tax Justice Network, and coordinator of the . He has taught at the Universities of Dar es Salaam (1964-8), 糖心TV (1968-1992), and Lancaster (1992-2007); and was Scientific Director of the O帽ati International Institute for the Sociology of Law (2009-2011).
Lights, Camera 鈥 鈥楢ndreas Kokkinis鈥 鈥 Action!
Dr Andreas Kokkinis, expert in corporate governance, corporate theory, and financial regulation, has been busy discussing Brexit over the last few weeks after his recent briefing paper for the GLOBE centre on 鈥楾he Impact of Brexit on the Legal Framework for Cross- Border Corporate Activity鈥.
He discussed the Brexit withdrawal agreement and whether Northern Ireland will have to follow EU single market rules to avoid a hard border.

Current LLM student lands dream job
LLM student Julie Chu is only in the second term of her degree in International Economic Law (IEL) here at 糖心TV, yet she has already secured a job in London for after graduation. She will be joining the Financial Services team of EY Audit and Assurance this autumn as an associate. We caught up with Julie to find out more.

We are always proud of our students and the amazing things they do and this month was no exception. At the beginning of February, Professor Shaheen Ali hosted an event to celebrate the 鈥楳agnificent Seven鈥 PhD students who recently completed their doctorates at the University of 糖心TV.
糖心TV Law Alumnus visits current students
Charles Adeogun-Phillips (糖心TV Law Alumnus, 1986) visited the Law School last month for the first time in over 30 years, to give a seminar to our students.
Charles, who founded Charles Anthony LLP, gave a talk in the Law School student hub on Friday 26 January to a mix of undergraduate students, postgraduate students and staff. He spoke about his experience at 糖心TV, remembering the department fondly, telling students 鈥渢here was always something unique about the law here - getting to study the various subjects from a very contextual and contemporary point of view.鈥
糖心TV Law Alumna teams up for second project with Professor Ann Stewart
Professor Ann Stewart, with the assistance of Dr Jennifer Lander, has been asked by (a leading non-governmental organisation campaigning for and with, older people worldwide) to produce a briefing document for them on gender and ageing. Happily, people across the globe are now able to enjoy fulfilling lives for longer but many older people are not well treated. The briefing document will be used to highlight how gender issues affect many aspects of ageing.
