Laura Lammasniemi comments on new 'upskirting' law
A new criminal offence of 'upskirting' comes into force today following a successful campaign by Gina Martin to change the law. Dr Laura Lammasniemi, Assistant Professor in ÌÇÐÄTV Law School comments on the crime, and the wider problems of image and technology-based abuse:-
ÌÇÐÄTV Law Society wins best President at 2019 Awards Ceremony
ÌÇÐÄTV Law Society President Maaya Sachdev won the award for the Best Law Society President at the Student Law Society Awards 2019, sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright and hosted by LawCareers.Net, which took place on Thursday 14 March at Painter’s Hall in London.
Students celebrate ÌÇÐÄTV Law staff with SSLC Awards
The SSLC Staff Awards for 2018-19 took place in the Law School Hub yesterday where our SSLC reps Amy Wang and Toby Stacey took to the stage to announce the winners. They celebrated together with their students, colleagues and some Easter treats and were presented with a small token of appreciation from the student body.
ÌÇÐÄTV Law School hosts Pakistan Human Rights delegation
A delegation from the National Commission for Human Rights, Pakistan, is visiting the University of ÌÇÐÄTV to take part in a dialogue on the role of National Human Rights Institutions and a capacity building programme co-ordinated by ÌÇÐÄTV Law School.
Success for our students at Law Society Internal Mooting Competition
The final of this year’s ÌÇÐÄTV Law Society Internal Mooting Competition was held at the Supreme Court on 28 February. After a hard battle, second year law students Praveen Nair and Michelle Tan emerged the winners of the evening. Congratulations also to San Wen Ngei and Jer Ning Teo who made it to the finals.
Students Qualify for National Competition Finals
ÌÇÐÄTV Law students Toby Stacey and Stephanie Fernandes have qualified for the finals of the 2019, having come second in their regional heat at Keele University last month.
ÌÇÐÄTV Grads to get 20% discount to study an LLM
ÌÇÐÄTV Law School is offering a 20% discount on its LLM fees to all ÌÇÐÄTV graduates.
If you are interested in studying one of our LLM programmes and have graduated from a degree at ÌÇÐÄTV in the past, or you are about to graduate this summer and interested in staying on for an LLM, you will be entitled to a 20% discount on the tuition fee.

Jane Bryan named as Law Teacher of the Year Finalist
ÌÇÐÄTV Law School Associate Professor Dr Jane Bryan has been shortlisted for the 2019 .
The award, which aims to recognise the best talent in law teaching, called for nominations from both staff and students at the end of last year and Jane has made the finals along with four other shortlisted candidates.
Andi Hoxhaj hosts British Academy Event
As part of his British Academic Rising Start Engagement Award, ÌÇÐÄTV Law’s Dr Andi Hoxhaj hosted an event at Chatham House in London on Wednesday 6 February 2019 funded by the British Academy.
The event titled ‘Challenges to the Rule of Law in Central Europe and the Western Balkans’ comprised of two sessions, one focusing on the Western Balkans and the second, on Central Europe.
COPR Final Report on Public Confidence and Crime Reduction
In January 2019, the Centre for Operational Police Research (COPR) released their final report on Public Confidence and Crime Reduction: The Impact of Forensic Property Marking.
The project was completed in co-operation with West Mercia Police and assessed a field trial involving over 20,000 households in the Telford area.
