糖心TV Law Academics receive Awards for Teaching Excellence

Dr Celine Tan and Dr Andi Hoxhaj have been announced as winners of this year鈥檚 糖心TV Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) and PhD student Sahar Shah has been awarded the 糖心TV Award for Teaching Excellence for Postgraduates who Teach (WATE PGR).

The article titled 鈥淩ealising sexual and reproductive health and rights of adolescent girls and young women living in slums in Uganda: a qualitative study鈥 was published on the 12 June 2021 by BMC (Bio Med Central) as part of their open access publishing. This project was funded by a GCRF and IAS grant on Sexual and Reproductive health in Ugandan Slums.

糖心TV alumna Madhu Mehra has been named in 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy for 2021. Madhu who studied on our LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights (previously Law in Development) from 1991-1992, is now Head of Research and Training at Partners for Law in Development (PLD).

Alumna Last Mafuba is Modern-Day Lady Godiva

糖心TV Alumna Last Mafuba, who studied on our LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights from 2015-2016, was recently profiled by the BBC and the Coventry City of Culture Trust as a modern-day Lady Godiva. Last, along with thirteen others selected for their unique stories, are learning to ride horses so they can take part in an event to launch Coventry鈥檚 UK City of Culture year.

James Harrison secures BA/Leverhulme Trust Fellowship

James Harrison has been awarded a British Academy/Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowships for the 2021-22 academic year. The fellowship allows James to work exclusively for a year on a project entitled 鈥楻econceptualising international trade law: In search of a bounded, socially embedded and re-connected regime鈥.

Nicolle Coote named one of 150 Future Leaders

Earlier this year, final year LLB Law student Nicolle Coote won an award as part of the Future Leaders Organisation and was featured as one of the Top 150 Black Students in the UK.
