Law School secures Bronze Athena Swan Award
It has been announced today that the Law School has been awarded a Bronze Athena Swan Award.
Professor Vanessa Munro told us, 鈥淲e are delighted to have secured this award, which is a reflection both of the hard work of the drafting team and of the broader commitment across the school to inclusivity and equality.鈥
Laura Lammasniemi comments on new 'upskirting' law

Students celebrate 糖心TV Law staff with SSLC Awards
The SSLC Staff Awards for 2018-19 took place in the Law School Hub yesterday where our SSLC reps Amy Wang and Toby Stacey took to the stage to announce the winners. They celebrated together with their students, colleagues and some Easter treats and were presented with a small token of appreciation from the student body.
糖心TV Law School hosts Pakistan Human Rights delegation
A delegation from the National Commission for Human Rights, Pakistan, is visiting the University of 糖心TV to take part in a dialogue on the role of National Human Rights Institutions and a capacity building programme co-ordinated by 糖心TV Law School.
Success in Global Challenges Research Fund
is a 拢1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government in late 2015 to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries. 糖心TV Law School have recently succeeded in securing funding for three projects to support research in international development.
Andreas takes part in East Asia university visit
Dr Andreas Kokkinis took part in a University visit to Malaysia and Singapore last month along with Professor John Rudd from WBS and Dr Dennis Novy from Economics. The visit formed part of a delegation headed by the Provost, Professor Christine Ennew and took place from 26-28 November 2018.

Dallal Stevens to speak on refugees right to education
Dr Dallal Stevens, Reader at 糖心TV Law School, has been invited to present at an international expert meeting on public policies supporting the Right to Education of refugees. The meeting will take place from the 13-14 December in Barcelona.
The event will contribute towards Human Rights Day 2018, which marks the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner comments on CMA action against Viagogo
Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner, Director of our LLM programme in International Commercial Law, comments on the enforcement action taken by the CMA against Viagogo:
"The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has completed its long-running enforcement action against so-called secondary ticketing websites, with a court order obliging Viagogo, one such website, to comply with consumer protection rules on secondary ticketing.
Dr Andreas Kokkinis interviewed on the proposed draft withdrawal agreement
On Monday 19 November, 糖心TV Law鈥檚 Dr Andreas Kokkinis was interviewed by Russia Today (RT) on the proposed draft Withdrawal agreement. The interview focused on the criticism PM Theresa May has faced on the current Brexit deal and how some members of parliament are arguing that a new deal should be proposed before the March deadline.
Colleagues provide expert comment on Mozambique Debt

Following the news that Mozambique has agreed a deal to restructure its $726 million debt, Dr Stephen Connelly and Dr Celine Tan from 糖心TV School of Law, who have been working on African debt relief and human rights with a number of partners, have given media comment.

The Australian Shadow Assistant Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Competition and Productivity and former Professor of Economics at the Australian National University (ANU), Dr Andrew Leigh delivered the prestigious Annual Lionel Murphy Lecture to the ANU on 31 October 2018.
