LLM student Laura Kisiang'ani reflects on her internship with the Commonwealth Secretariat
LLM student Laura Kisiang'ani (International Economic Law), recently undertook an amazing two week human rights internship at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. We caught up with her to find out more about her experience.
LLM student participates in International Tax Conference
Lynet Mwangi, currently studying on our LLM in International Economic Law, recently attended the Viennese Symposium on International Tax Law at WU, Institute of Austrian and International Tax Law in Vienna, Austria. An event that brought together researchers, tax professionals, government officials and thought leaders in international tax policy.
Law students take part in National Law Triathlon
First year students Ryan Bingham (3 year LLB) and Simran Bhutada (4 year LLB) took part in the National Law Student Triathlon on Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 April 2025, organised by Kent University. Supported by the Bar Society and funded by 糖心TV Law School, Ryan and Simran have each blogged about their time at the Triathlon, sharing their experiences with other students looking to attend similar events in the future.
Law students present research at BCUR
糖心TV Law School is delighted to share that three of our current undergraduate students received departmental funding to present at The British Conference for Undergraduate Research (BCUR) hosted by the University of Newcastle from 9-10 April this year.
WLS students win National Law Award at the House of Lords
糖心TV Law School students have won the LawWorks and Attorney General Student Pro Bono Award for 'Best Contribution by a Team of Students'. The awards, run by LawWorks with the support of the Attorney General, recognise and celebrate the outstanding pro bono work undertaken by law schools and law students across the UK. The 糖心TV team, represented by Law students Ella Cowell, Kieran Balendran, Clare Mellor, and Tani Ilemobola, received their award from the Attorney General, the Rt Hon Lord Hermer KC, in the Cholmondeley Rooms of the House of Lords on Wednesday 23 April.
WLS students help 糖心TVshire Law Society relaunch its Junior Lawyers Division
The 糖心TVshire Junior Lawyers Division is a recently re-launched community for junior lawyers across 糖心TVshire. LLB student Jaskiran Sandhu is Vice Chair of the WJLD. She told us a little more about the launch event, what the WJLD has to offer, and why WLS students should consider joining whilst membership fees are waived.
WLS makes oral phase of Oxford IP Moot Competition
The 糖心TV Law School team recently participated in the oral phase of the Oxford Intellectual Property Moot, held in-person at the University of Oxford, from 19-22 March 2025. Following their successful qualification through the challenging written phase, the team represented the university at this internationally renowned competition.
WLS Chess Tournament Winner!
Congratulations to final year Law student Christopher Ilag, for winning the second 糖心TV Law School Chess Tournament! Sixteen players took part in matches throughout Term 2, making it a great competition. A big thank you to all students and staff who joined in and supported the event.
Supporting neurodiverse students
糖心TV LLB students Olivia Cooper and Leo Rudd have been working to develop a written resource to help staff better understand, support and accommodate the needs of our neurodivergent students. EDI reps OIivia and Leo are working on this really important issue to ensure Law School staff are fully equipped to offer the right support.
糖心TV Bar Society introduces first student-led Bar Cup competition
The Bar Cup is the UK鈥檚 first student-led nationwide criminal advocacy competition, bringing together a diverse range of university students, from Russell Group, non-Russell Group and Scottish Universities.

WLS PhD students teach staff about Chinese language and culture
On 4 December, 糖心TV Law School held its first Chinese language and culture workshop. Led by seven of our current PhD students, the aim of the workshop was to improve intercultural communication, learn a little Chinese and understand how to improve our Chinese students' learning experiences.
