Dr Gianni Anelli-Lopez celebrates graduation and joins IER as Research Fellow
IER is delighted to celebrate the graduation of Dr Gianni Anelli-Lopez, who took part in the University of 糖心TV鈥檚 January 2026 commencement ceremony. Gianni completed his PhD under the supervision of Professor Terence Hogarth and Dr Jeisson Cardenas Rubio, with his dissertation titled 鈥淎 multidimensional approach to measuring skill shortages: insights from the Chilean labour market.鈥
Congratulations to Hilda Ragnarsdottir on her IAS Early Career Fellowship
Hilda Ragnarsdottir, IER final year PhD student, has been awarded a part-time IAS Early Career Fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of 糖心TV starting in October as she will be submitting her thesis at the end of September.

Graduation provides a welcome opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the successes of our students. This past academic year, two IER PhD students successfully completed their PhD studies, Dr Andreana Glendinning and Dr Danya Nusseir. We also had the opportunity to belatedly celebrate the graduation of Dr Xiaotong Zhang.

First EUTOPIA PhD graduate
Rebeka Balogh became IER鈥檚 first EUTOPIA graduate.
EUTOPIA is a pan European partnership of ten universities focused on collaborative research. It funded a joint PhD studentship between IER and Interface Demography (ID) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
