Wing Ying Chow

Associate Professor

Wing Ying Chow (they/she) is an Associate Professor in Physics in the Solid-state NMR group at the University of 糖心TV. They are interested in applying solid-state NMR to investigate chemical and biological structures of the extracellular matrix, especially in contexts relevant to human health and disease.

Research Interests

Ying's research is motivated by two questions:

  • What chemical and mechanical signals are found in the extracellular environment?
  • How can we detect and characterise these signals, mostly in the form of molecules, using magnetic resonance?

We have developed solid-state NMR-based approaches for investigating the extracellular matrix environment in a variety of samples, including cell cultures and human tissues.

Collaborators

Research supervision

If you are interested in being part of a research team working at the interface of biology, physics, and chemistry, please contact Ying for opportunities to join the group.

We welcome contact from prospective students and postdocs who are looking to do ground-breaking research at the interface of biology, physics, and chemistry. We are committed to supporting and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. We especially encourage applications from underrepresented groups in science.
