How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites entries for its science photo competition. This recognises photos demonstrating research in action, in order to support excellence and promote the benefits of UK engineering and physical sciences. Entrants are invited under the following five categories:

鈥quipment and facilities – images of the equipment, facilities and tools used in research;

鈥ureka and discovery – images that reflect a eureka moment or new discoveries and understanding that arise from your research;

鈥nnovation – images of research that has inspired innovation or is related to commercial breakthroughs;

鈥eople and skills – images of people working as part of a research team, taking part in or affected by the research;

鈥eird and wonderful – unusual, eye-catching and bizarre images arising from research.

EPSRC-supported researchers and EPSRC-supported doctoral students may submit. They must be able to provide a valid EPSRC grant reference number. Each individual may submit up to three entries to the competition.

Prizes do not have a fixed value, but previous years' prizes have included equipment to the value of 拢500.
