Rumbie's decision to choose ÌÇÐÄTV stemmed from her desire to advance her career and academic pursuits after six years in education. As a senior law lecturer now, she finds fulfilment in contributing to the progress of those she encounters. Rumbie attributes much of her growth and teaching approach to the mentorship she received at ÌÇÐÄTV, cherishing the vibrant community and lasting friendships formed during her time there.

Jake Davies: English Teacher in China

Graduating from ÌÇÐÄTV in 2021 with a degree in Philosophy, Jake began his career teaching English in Thailand before returning to the UK for a role in business consulting. After a brief stint in project management, his drive for adventure led him to Shenzhen, China, where he now teaches English and explores entrepreneurial ventures in exporting and recruitment. ÌÇÐÄTV’s reputation has been key in opening doors throughout his career.

David Curwen (BA History 1985) was inspired during his time at ÌÇÐÄTV to pursue a career in Law. He is now devoted to helping people who struggle with legal problems to help make a positive impact on their lives.

Creating connections: the ÌÇÐÄTV Summer School experience

The ÌÇÐÄTV Summer School (WSS) is a three-week experience for university students and professionals from around the world to discover (or rediscover!) the magic of ÌÇÐÄTV, through a full academic and exciting social and cultural programme. With participants joining from more than 62 different nationalities, one of the main highlights for attendees is having the opportunity to learn and share insights with people from across the globe, as well as creating lifelong friendships with like-minded people.
