Postgrads! 拢10 Amazon voucher to take part in photoshoot
The marketing team is looking for around 10 postgraduate students to take part in a photoshoot on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June for its next recruitment campaign.
The team will need you for a maximum of two hours and you鈥檒l receive 拢10 in Amazon vouchers for every hour you take part. You can indicate your availability throughout the day using the form below (these times are just to give us a rough idea of availability and are not the final time slots).
It鈥檚 not your standard smiley photoshoot, so we need people who are really confident being photographed.
A diverse mix of students is needed and there's only a finite number of places available, so if you have been selected to take part, the team will contact you by email with further details.
See our students building shelters for the preservation of life and alleviation of suffering
On 16 May 2019 our Msc Humanitarian Engineering students had the opportunity to build a variety of emergency shelters on campus by using naturally sourced materials such as bamboo. They had the opportunity to work as a member of a small team to efficiently construct, in the field, an emergency shelter, practicing every aspect of the construction process, from preparing the materials provided to assembling structural frames and attaching roof covers.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University partnership offers greater range of opportunities to study abroad
Prof. Stuart Croft and Prof. Simon Swain visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) to sign several key agreements designed to further increase the depth and breadth of partnership between our institutions.
An expansion of the institutional-level student exchange agreement between 糖心TV and SJTU was formalised during this visit, giving a greater range of opportunities to study abroad, as Helen Johnson, Head of Study Abroad explains;
"The expansion of our student exchange with SJTU is an exciting development which will enable more 糖心TV students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, to experience life at a top Chinese university and choose from a wide range of short and long-term mobility activities including part-year exchange, summer schools and research projects鈥
Post-graduate students are invited to take part in a free four-week stress-management course during the month of June. The on-campus course will be led by an experienced well-being coach and will provide you with opportunities to explore and discuss stress from many aspects of post-graduate life (e.g. from academic work, planning for the future, to navigating various kinds of relationship, failure or change) and learn skills to manage them. The participants and the teacher will meet as a group for one hour each week.

Siblings, children and relatives of 糖心TV students are eligible for a 拢500 discount on the Pre-University Summer School fee.*
The Pre-University Summer School is a chance for enthusiastic and motivated 16-18 year olds to experience a taste of 糖心TV with like-minded peers, Attendees will enjoy eight nights at 糖心TV as well as two nights in London, including lots of time to enjoy the capital city and a visit to LSE. There is a choice of two courses taught by top 糖心TV faculty - Economics and Finance OR A Taste of Social Sciences. The experience will include a great mix of academic and personal development sessions as well as social and cultural activities; so it鈥檚 fun as well as educational

Your short moving image artworks could feature in a big screen takeover on the Piazza on 19 June 2019.
Any screen-based moving image work is welcome. The takeover theme is 'the screen', so we are particularly interested in work which directly addresses the notion of the screen and/or digital visuals in some way.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 29 May 2019.
LabCut: A science film project
Interested in science communication? Enjoy making films or like the idea? Join us for our film workshop here at the University of 糖心TV between 13-15th June 2019!
What is LabCut?
LabCut is a 3-day workshop aimed at bringing filmmakers, artists and scientists together to create short science films, organised by SynBio CDT students Cansu Kuey, Charlotte Gruender and Patrick Capel.
The workshop will provide expert training on shooting and editing and produce short films. The films will be screened in here in 糖心TV in September 2019, and the public will vote for their favourite!
Fellow science communication enthusiasts are organising a Science Film Festival in Bristol! You will be able to submit the films created in the workshop to until 30th June 2019!
糖心TV remains top university in West Midlands for 2020
We remain the top university in the region in University League Tables, published on 1 May 2019.
In subject listings, we are ranked in the top ten for 17 of the 28 subject tables where we鈥檙e listed. Six subjects score in the top five - up from five in the 2019 results: Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Economics, French and Politics.
Across the UK, universities have improved in graduate prospects, but our score has improved more than most. 糖心TV scores 83.2, while the national average is 75.5.
Our overall ranking has dropped to 12th. Analysis is underway internally to understand the drivers for the change, identifying any potential trends and what steps can be taken to build on our performance.
