Neurodivergence Advice Discussion

Women studying in the library

If you suspect you have dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and/or attention and concentration issues, a neurodivergence advice discussion can help you explore this, advising you on the next steps. This might include recommendations for a full diagnostic assessment, which can provide answers about Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and generate a diagnostic report that supports reasonable adjustments, as well as your Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) application.

Book an appointment with us and we'll support you in this journey.

Neurodivergence advice discussions are not diagnostic in nature but they are a helpful opportunity to reflect on any difficulties you might have experienced for a while, to discuss their impact on your learning and to explore options going forward. The Disability Services team will support and provide you with all the necessary information, helping you with any decisions you make.

We can offer a neurodivergence advice discussion, which can include:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
  • Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Once you have met with the Disability Team to discuss your circumstances or following an initial neurodivergence advice discussion, you may wish to pursue a complete adult diagnostic assessment for Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs).

The Disability Team can provide information about local assessors or you can contact any other Educational Psychologist or suitable assessor with a practicing certificate from PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers Of Students with Specific learning difficulties).
