UPDATE 18/02/2025: Temporary traffic and pedestrian restrictions on Library Road and Lord Bhattacharyya Way February - March 2025

The University of 糖心TV is currently delivering The Connect Programme, an unprecedented 拢700m investment in campus facilities. As part of the first phase, STEM Connect, construction enabling works are currently underway.

As part of these works, some temporary changes have been made to the way our community navigates our Campus. These are set out in more detail below

Lord Bhattacharyya Way adjacent to Energy Innovation Centre: 03/02/25 - 24/02/25

  • 2-way traffic lights will be in operation on Lord Bhattacharyya Way between the Energy Innovation Centre & Library Road junction with a single lane closure.
  • The pathway closest to Engineering & Energy Innovation Centre will be closed.

Library Road outside Engineering: 20/02/25 - 07/03/25

  • 2-way traffic lights will be in operation on Library Road with a single lane closure.
  • The pathway closest to will be closed.
  • Partial closure of 1 accessible bay by Engineering. Blue badge holders will need to speak to the site operatives for access to the remaining 4 bays.
  • Delivery vehicles will need to speak to the site operatives for access to the delivery bay.

Rear of Ramphal & Chemistry: 10/02/25 - 03/03/25

  • Nightworks; closed to all deliveries & staff access between 6pm - 6am, all vehicles must be removed from the area by 6pm daily.

Alternative Routes:

  • All affected areas will have clearly signposted detours and alternative routes in place.

Partial closure of the mobility lane on the Academic Loop Road from the 10th January 2025

The mobility lane between the Claycroft accommodation and the Junction building on the Academic Loop Road will be temporarily closed for emergency manhole repairs from 10th January for approximately one week. The lane may reopen sooner depending on weather conditions.

Temporary traffic lights on the A429 Kenilworth Road: 7th January - 10th January 2025

From Tuesday 7th January - Friday 10th January, two way temporary traffic lights will be in operation on the A429 Kenilworth Road during off peak hours from 9:30am to 3:30pm. These measures are to facilitate vacuum excavation works as part of the A429 Kenilworth Road overbridge and road realignment works for HS2.

HS2 A46 weekend closures: Friday 7th - Monday 10th & Friday 14th - Monday 17th February 2025

Balfour Beatty VINCI are working, in partnership with HS2 and National Highways, to construct the A46 box structure which will carry the new HS2 line under the A46 near Kenilworth. To prepare for the installation of the bridge in April 2025, there will be preparatory works in February 2025. To complete these works safely and efficiently, two temporary full weekend closures of the A46 in February will occur. A fully signed diversion route will be in place. The road will be closed over the following dates:

Full weekend closures

  • From 8pm on Friday 7 February to 6am on Monday 10 February 2025
  • From 8pm on Friday 14 February to 6am on Monday 17 February 2025

Temporary traffic and pedestrian restrictions on Library Road and Lord Bhattacharyya Way from Monday 7th October 2024 - Friday 28th February 2025

From Monday 7th October, there will be 3-way temporary traffic lights and a partial closure of the service and delivery bays on Library Road and Lord Bhattacharyya Way for essential road trenching. Accessible bays, service bays and pedestrian pathways will be temporarily closed during these phases, with alternative provisions in place. Please click on this news item for further information.
