Phase 1, Northbound
14 February to 25 February 2023.
Time – 8pm to 6am
HS2 will be working overnight Monday to Friday for two weeks. The works will involve reducing the lanes on the A46 to a single lane on the northbound carriageway between; the Thickthorn Interchange (Leamington) and the Stoneleigh Junction. There will be no restrictions in place over the weekends.

Phase 2, Southbound
20 February to 25 February 2023.
8pm to 6am
The Northbound works will continue during phase 2 with the addition of southbound works. The works will involve reducing the lanes on the A46 to a single lane on the southbound carriageway between; Festival Island (A45) and Thickthorn (Leamington). HS2 will need to close the southbound slip road onto the A46 from the Stoneleigh junction. There will be a full diversion in place heading north to Festival Island (A45) and returning southbound on the A46.

ÌÇÐÄTVshire County Council have approved a road closure of Stoneleigh Road (between Kings Hill lane and Dalehouse roundabout) for the final works to complete the connection with the new road alignment and the A46 Stoneleigh Junction island improvement scheme. Diversion routes will be in place, this is likely to impact journey times to and from campus, please allow for additional travel time whilst this closure is in place.

ÌÇÐÄTVshire County Council is advising residents of temporary road works on the A46, which will allow for the moving of the new bridge deck into position.

To allow this move to take place, closures will be in place along the A46 between 17 January and 22 January. On the stated days, diversion routes will be well-signposted throughout.

As part of the A46 Stoneleigh Junction Improvement Scheme, WCC are planning on closing the existing A46 Bridge at the Stoneleigh Junction for a period of 5 weeks from the 21st November.

From 7 March to 3 April

From 6am on Monday 7 March to 8pm on Saturday 2 April, A46 southbound closed from Kenilworth (A46/A452) to M40 J15. A46 northbound will run under 24/7 contraflow- 1 x lane running northbound, and 1 x lane running southbound.

A46 southbound and northbound closed from M40 J15 to Kenilworth (A46/A452) on 2 April and 3 April, 8pm to 6am.

Week commencing Monday 4 April

A46 southbound and northbound closed from M40 J15 to Kenilworth (A46/A452) on 4 April, 5 April, 6 April and 7 April, 8pm to 6am.

From 8pm on Friday 8 April to 6am on Monday 11 April, A46 southbound closed at Leek Wootton (a ‘down and under’ diversion will be installed around the junction).
