Estates teams shortlisted for national AUDE Awards

Two Estates teams have been shortlisted for this year’s 2026 AUDE Awards, having showcased standout achievements in digital transformation and community-driven impact.

The awards, which celebrate excellence in university estates management across the UK, recognise teams and projects making significant contributions to institutional performance and sector-wide best practice.

The double recognition highlights the breadth of innovation, collaboration and community impact delivered across the Estates portfolio.

Community impact and sustainability

·¡²õ³Ù²¹³Ù±ð²õ’ Interior Design, Furniture Equipment (IDFE) teamLink opens in a new window has been shortlisted for the AUDE Reaching Higher Award, thanks to its innovative Furniture and Equipment Donation Initiative.

Since launching in June 2025, the initiative has provided much‑needed furniture and equipment to local schools, charities, community centres and SMEs across Coventry, while also supporting the University’s sustainability goals.

Developed over two years, the scheme has:

  • Created a robust governance model to support the safe, compliant donation of surplus furniture and electrical equipment.
  • Donated more than 470 items between June and December 2025.
  • Generated almost £65,000 in savings for donation partners.
  • Prevented 332.05kg COâ‚‚/kg of embodied carbon emissions through reuse.

The initiative required no additional staffing or budget, instead being integrated into existing workflows. The Post & Portering teamLink opens in a new window also play a crucial role by offering logistical support.

Vicky Hill, Interior Design, Furniture & Equipment Manager, said: “This reflects the hard work, collaboration and commitment of everyone involved – from the IDFE team, whose diligence ensured the right governance and compliance were firmly in place, to our Porters, who provided outstanding logistical support in all conditions.

“This scheme is a powerful example of how the University can positively impact the wider community, delivering tangible benefits while remaining closely aligned with both our Estates Values and the broader University strategy.â€

Celebrating digital innovation

The Estates Information & Systems (EIS) teamLink opens in a new window has also been recognised, having been shortlisted for AUDE’s Estates/Facilities Team Award.

The recognition follows a year of digital transformation that has reshaped how the University manages space, assets, maintenance and campus navigation.

“Being shortlisted reflects the professionalism, dedication, enthusiasm and expertise of everyone within Estates Information & Systems, who have consistently shown a strong commitment to owning and achieving ambitious projects and deadlines.

“It also highlights the strength of our cross‑department collaboration, demonstrating what we can accomplish when we work seamlessly with colleagues across the wider Estates directorate and with partners across the University, including IDG.â€

Both teams will represent the University of ÌÇÐÄTV at the on 22 April at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
