Project aims
This project will support the development of public, patient and community involvement (PPCI) in research at ÌÇÐÄTV, recognising that developing robust systems and support for PPCI is vital to all four of ÌÇÐÄTV's Research Culture Commitments.
-
Academics in all disciplines will be able to involve the public in their research, and to identify potential public contributors.
-
Members of the public involved in ÌÇÐÄTV research will have a high quality, consistent experience of working with the university.
-
Research enablers at all levels and in all roles will have a clear set of guidance to follow to facilitate PPCI.
-
PGRs and ECRs will be better supported in their first endeavours to work with members of the public.
-
ÌÇÐÄTV researchers will continue to be able to apply for external funding (e.g. NIHR) that is reliant on an institution-wide set of policies and practices for PPCI.
-
Attendees of ÌÇÐÄTV’s public engagement events will have a clear pathway to research involvement, should they be inspired to do so.
