In today's digital age, email security is more important than ever. Here’s a reminder of how to tell the difference between phishing and spam emails and how to report them correctly.

Two new policies have been published – one which sets out the responsibilities of those who manage computer systems, and another outlining the requirements to access University information, systems, and infrastructure, to make sure only authorised people can do so.

If you use a personal device to access the University network, you may have received an email from Microsoft requesting that you upgrade to Windows 11.  to make sure your device can connect securely.

If you use an unmanaged device you will receive an email, from microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com, about Windows 10 ‘end of life’. Follow the instructions to upgrade to Windows 11 and meet security requirements.

Emergency services were called to a fire on campus at the Arthur Vick residence block 1 on Wednesday night (19 November). The fire is now out. All students were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

If you or your team have a University-owned Windows device that hasn’t been switched on lately, it may not have received a critical security update. Power it on and connect it to the internet for at least one hour to stay secure. Find out why this is important.
