Proposed changes to our pay structure
The University is in discussions with trade unions on how we could mitigate pay compression at the bottom end of the pay scale and in our lower grades. We’re sharing details with you of the formal offer made to the trade unions, while they consult their members. We’ll share a further update once these negotiations have finished.  
Pay award update
Each year, the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) negotiate with trade unions on a national pay award for HE staff. As some trade unions are still consulting their members on UCEA’s pay offer, we are unable to implement an uplift to pay from 1 August. We will update you again once this process has finished.

Annual leave balances for 2026/27 are now available in SuccessFactors, meaning you can book for the next holiday year, beginning 1 October. Any leave you are carrying over will be added to SuccessFactors after 1 October. Find out more about annual leave here.
