The University is in discussions with trade unions on how we could mitigate pay compression at the bottom end of the pay scale and in our lower grades. Each year, the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) negotiate with trade unions on a national pay award for HE staff. As some trade unions are still consulting their members on UCEA’s pay offer, we are unable to implement an uplift to pay from 1 August. We will update you again once this process has finished.
