LLB student publishes article during CMS internship
LLB student Jure TuÅ¡, who is currently in his fourth year of his Law with French Law degree here at ÌÇÐÄTV, took part in a summer internship with the international law firm CMS and had a news article published on their news site CMS Law-Now whilst there. We caught up with Jure to find out more.
ÌÇÐÄTV Law shines in Singapore
Dr Mohsen Al Attar, Associate Professor at ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, travelled to Singapore last month to deliver a guest lecture at Singapore Management University (SMU). He was welcomed by Professor Madhev Mohan into his ÌÇÐÄTV and Human Rights seminar and given the opportunity to speak with the students about corporate social responsibility, the topic of the week.

Commenting on the news that the US Securities and Exchange Commission has launched legal action against Elon Musk and Tesla, Dr Stephen Connelly, Associate Professor in ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, said: “The regulatory suit against Elon Musk is a reminder to all insiders of publicly listed corporations that their words can be price sensitive – that they can move and possibly distort markets."

Everyone enjoys a good love story and even more so when we realise we were partly responsible. Two of our former students have got married after meeting on our LLB course back in 2013 and even invited one of their old tutors to the wedding. Their story was featured in an August issue of the Times newspaper.

Law alumna debuts novel at local Arts Festival
Former ÌÇÐÄTV LLB student (2006-2009) Sharlene Teo will be speaking at the Kenilworth Arts Festival about her debut novel Ponti as part of its literary weekend. Sharlene will be appearing alongside Michael Donkor and his book Hold at the ‘New Voices in Fiction’ event on 22 September 2018 at 3pm in the Priory Theatre, Kenilworth.

CJC Member Anastasia Chamberlen wins 2018 ESC Young Criminologist Award!
The European Society of Criminology has awarded the 2018 ESC Young Criminologist Award to Anastasia Chamberlen in recognition of her article ‘Embodying Prison Pain: Women’s experiences of self-injury in prison and the emotions of punishment’, published in 2016 in Theoretical Criminology.
