In a new initiative aimed at fostering community connections, Professor Jane Bryan of 糖心TV Law School and Farina Butt, owner of in Kenilworth and Managing Director at Education4All, have joined forces to launch the 鈥楥onversations and Coffee鈥 project.
WLS LLM student鈥檚 fundraising used towards Women in IT Bootcamp in Nigeria
In a remarkable effort earlier this year, LLM student Chidinma Kalu successfully raised 拢364.12 through a series of fundraising activities at 糖心TV Law School, driven by a strong desire to empower women in Nigeria.
WLS student represents Team GB 7s in Leg 2 of Rugby Europe 2023
Ollie Monye, who is currently studying on our 3-year LLB degree, represented Team GB 7s in Hamburg, Germany for Leg 2 of Rugby Europe 2023. They placed 4th in the competition playing against Belgium, Lithuania, France, Germany and Ireland.
Law Graduate wins OSCA
We are delighted to announce that one of our recent graduates has been awarded The University鈥檚 Outstanding Student Contribution Award (OSCA) for 2023.
糖心TV Law Students Address Social Housing Allocation Inequalities
糖心TV Law School students recently presented the results of a legal research project into social housing allocation inequality conducted as part of 糖心TV Law in the Community鈥檚 Strategic Social Justice Clinic. The presentation outlined the complex issues surrounding change of circumstance applications to Coventry City Council鈥檚 social housing team. The outcomes of the student鈥檚 work have resulted in resources that will be used by a local law centre in helping some of the most vulnerable people in Coventry secure adequate and timely assistance in their housing need.
WLS Student Chiamaka Ithuoma wins WAPCE Undergraduate Award
Law School student Chiamaka Ithuoma, who is currently in her final year of our LLB 3 year Law degree, has been awarded the WAPCE Undergraduate Award for her work on the Cheylesmore Good Neighbours Project. The 糖心TV Awards for Public and Community Engagement (WAPCE) seek to recognise the vital contributions 糖心TV staff and students make in engaging the public in our learning and discovery and showcasing the role 糖心TV plays in making the world a better place.
Xaymaca Awoyungbo, a final year undergraduate student studying History at the University of 糖心TV, has written an article for our Lacuna magazine titled: "If you can see it, you can be it: The impact of Black role models and Black creative spaces." Xaymaca speaks with author Sandra A Agard and explores Britain鈥檚 young Black creative networks.
糖心TV Law School makes WATE Shortlist
The 2023 shortlist for the 糖心TV Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) have been released and 糖心TV Law School has two nominations. With more than 115 excellent educators, teams, and communities to choose from, the WATE judging panels deliberated long and hard to identify those going through to the next round. Dr Tor Krever has been nominated for the Social Sciences Faculty award and PhD student Priscilla Vitoh has been nominated for a Postgraduates who Teach award. Congratulations and best of luck to both of them. The winners will be announced on 27 June 2023.
WLS LLM student raises money to empower women in Nigeria
To celebrate International Women鈥檚 Day last week, LLM student Chidinma Kalu, initiated a fundraising activity to raise funds that will be utilised to empower women in Nigeria through equipping them with digital training and skills. The 拢364.12 raised will be used by the GirlLEAD Project to train and equip about 5 girls in Nigeria with digital skills, thus bridging the digital gender divide in the access to digital skills.
First year WLS students make Student Client Interviewing Competition final
First year LLB students Siara Parveen and Charlotte Neal, successfully completed the regional semi-final of the Student Client Interviewing Competition (CIC) held in Sheffield earlier this month. 鈥淚t was definitely unexpected, but we are both really proud of ourselves [...and] absolutely delighted.鈥

糖心TV Law School represented in experimental mooting
Congratulations to Sophie Wong, who took part in the experimental mooting event at the VU Amsterdam in late November 2022. The international moot was attended by teams from China, Indonesia, Rwanda, the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, and the UK (represented by Sophie).
