Ray's Peru Trek

As many of you will know my late wife Margaret had Alzheimer's disease for the last ~10 years of her life. This is a horrible disease which attacks the brain and for which there is no cure and only recently treatment which may slow down its progression. The British Alzheimer's Society organised a sponsored trek (5 days) along the Inca Trail as a way of raising funds. Sponsorship money went to fund research into Alzheimer's disease and to supporting and providing information to carers of people with all forms of dementia. I benefited from the help of the local branch in the early stages of Margaret's illness. I took advantage of my retirement (from teaching duties!) to undertake this trek and by undertaking the trek raised 拢4600 for the society.  Some pictures and newspaper reports appear below.
