Research Interests: My research interests lie in solar physics, plasma astrophysics, and nonlinear wave theory, with a particular emphasis on the physics of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves. MHD waves are fundamental to a wide range of astrophysical processes and are routinely observed in the solar atmosphere, the solar wind, and Earth's magnetosphere. More generally, they are ubiquitous in magnetised plasmas throughout the Universe.

As MHD waves propagate through inhomogeneous, time-dependent, nonlinear, and often dynamically evolving plasmas, they exhibit rich and sometimes unexpected behaviour. Understanding these processes provides unique insights into the fundamental physics of magnetised plasmas, including the mechanisms governing energy transport, plasma heating, and wave–plasma interactions.

The discovery of ubiquitous wave activity in the solar corona has led to the development of MHD seismology, a powerful remote-sensing technique that exploits the observed properties of MHD waves to infer otherwise inaccessible plasma parameters, including the strength and direction of the magnetic field, the free magnetic energy stored in non-potential magnetic structures, the characteristic spatial scales of density and temperature inhomogeneities, and plasma transport coefficients. My research has contributed to the development of the theoretical foundations of MHD seismology, the detection and interpretation of MHD wave phenomena in observational data, and the application of seismological techniques to the remote diagnostics of magnetised plasmas.
