How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its innovation partnership scheme fellowships. These support a knowledge exchange and commercialisation professional in a position at a UK university in developing innovation and impact from its STFC-funded research outputs. The fellow must cultivate innovation opportunities by facilitating the transfer of technologies, skills and knowledge to industry and other users of research outputs. They must also focus on commercial exploitation to ensure UK economic impact, and strive to enhance the capacity for knowledge exchange within STFC funded departments of the host university.

UK universities or consortia of universities may apply. The host university is expected to be in receipt of significant active grant funding from the STFC science programme.

Fellowships are for up to four years, covering up to 50 per cent of the fellowship at 80 per cent full economic costing.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its innovations partnership scheme grants. This aims to transfer technology and expertise developed through STFC funding to the marketplace in partnership with industry and other academic disciplines.

Applicants must collaborate with a partner. Lead applicants must be employed within a university academic group previously or be currently funded by the STFC core science programme, or employed within a STFC laboratory or facility, and should show that their work will develop technologies or expertise from this research. HEIs, research council institutes and independent research organisations eligible for RCUK funding may apply as lead research organisations. Proposals must demonstrate that science, technology and expertise involved originated from the STFC core science programme, STFC facilities and laboratories, CERN, the European Southern Observatory or the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. Industrial and non-profit organisations may also apply in collaboration with a lead academic partner.

Grants are worth up to 拢120,000 per year at 80 per cent full economic cost for up to three years.

IAS - International visiting fellowships

This International Visiting Felowship Programme enriches 糖心TV's intellectual environment by enabling research groups at 糖心TV to engage with distinguished, international researchers, including policy makers, representatives of the arts, business, government and industry.

Visiting Fellows must be nominated by a 糖心TV academic. Visits usually last between 10 days and 10 weeks.

The principle purpose of this scheme is to enrich 糖心TV's intellectual environment. In order to ensure that the impact of the visit is felt by a wide cross-section of the research community, Fellows would normally take part in activties such as:

  • Research and/or training event targeted at early career scholars
  • A public event
  • Interdisciplinary activity aimed at an audience beyond the Fellow鈥檚 immediate field of specialism
  • Presentation of Fellow鈥檚 core research to targeted audience
  • Exploration of further collaborative opportunities with groups/individuals beyond the Principal Applicants research area
  • Cross-university and/or cross-sector meetings
  • Engagement with IAS research fellows, typically providing a brief career-development talk at the IAS Seminar Series is strongly encouraged.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its follow-on funding scheme. This provides financial support at the very early or pre-seed stage of turning research outputs into a commercial proposition. This may be used for:

鈥ndertaking further scientific and technical development of an idea;

鈥mproving an intellectual property position;

鈥aining further information about the market for the new products or process;

鈥dentifying potential licensees or opportunities for joint ventures.

Lead applicants must be employed within a research organisation group previously or currently funded by the STFC core science programme, and should show that their work will develop technologies or expertise from STFC funded projects. The lead research organisation must be an approved UK HEI, research council institute or independent research organisation.

Grants are worth up to 拢88,000 each over one year at 80 per cent full economic cost.
