Statements of interest are invited between 27 September and 4pm, 18 October 2017. This call is repeated 3 times a year. The Science and Technology Facilities Council, under its projects peer review panel, invites statements of interest for funding for large projects. This supports projects that have a significant scientific priority in particle physics, nuclear physics, astronomy or particle astrophysics. Eligible activities include participation in new experiments or missions, development of new instruments and upgrades to existing detectors. Applicants must be employed as academic members of staff, lecturers or equivalent, and be either resident in the UK or employed by an overseas research organisation approved by the STFC as eligible to apply. If the applicant is not employed by the organisation submitting the proposal, they must have have written arrangement from the organisation confirming that they may carry out research there. Post-doctoral research assistants may be identified as co-applicants. |

A support package of seed funding, training and mentoring to support outstanding international entrepreneurial engineering researchers at postdoctoral level and above to to commercialise their innovation and set up a business in the UK. Awarded to individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional innovation in engineering, with high potential to deliver economic and social benefit to the wider public in the UK and beyond, together with considerable entrepreneurial potential. The Fellowship will focus on developing the awardee鈥檚 skills through training and implementation, so that by the end of the 12 month programme the business is ready to receive investment. |
