Dear colleagues, I am pleased to announce that the 2nd call under the UK-Mexico Visiting Chair initiative is now open. The application deadline is 18th August 2017. Under this call, funding will be provided (including international travel, accommodation, incidental expenses, workspace, internal travel by bus or train) for one 糖心TV academic to travel to Mexico (see list for eligible host institutions) in order to spend up to two weeks (minimum four days at one institution). Applicants should undertake one (and ideally more) of the following activities: attendance at workshops, research symposia, conferences as well as meetings to scope collaboration, share best practice and develop new collaborations.
The final decision will be announced on 2nd October for travel to take place before 30 June 2018.
In the spirit of reciprocity, 糖心TV will be hosting one academic from Mexico under the scheme, and we would encourage colleagues at 糖心TV who would like to host a Mexican partner (from eligible institutions- see call guidelines) to make contact with their counterparts. It is probably worth pointing out that the incoming and outgoing applications will be reviewed separately and are not contingent upon one another. This scheme is designed around national reciprocity, rather than bilateral institutional exchanges- as such you do not need to both apply to travel to Mexico and host a Mexican counterpart.

The Physical Sciences theme is undertaking a set of workshops in order to widen it's interaction with Early Career Researchers. These events are planned to take place in October 2017. They will provide the opportunity for us to communicate recent changes in EPSRC policies, understand the needs of ECRs and to build a mutual understanding and relationship between EPSRC and ECRs leading to more advocates in community. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey below to express your interest in attending one of our workshops. This will be used to select participants based on their justification of attendance as described in their EOI submission. In addition, EPSRC will also ensure a balanced representation of organisation, research area, expertise and career stage.Completion of the survey is not a guarantee of attendance. You will receive further confirmation of your attendance via a formal email invite. Some of the information will be used and published in the booklet for the workshop including your name, institution, primary research area and summary of your research area. (Unless you contact us specifically to let us know that you are not happy for this information to be shared). |
