How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

The Royal Society invites applications for the Newton advanced fellowships – Brazil, China, Mexico and South Africa. These enable international researchers to establish and develop collaborations with the UK, with the intention of transferring knowledge and research capabilities. The skills and knowledge gained should contribute to advancing economic development and social welfare of the partner country. The specific aims are to:

鈥upport the development of a well-trained research community;

鈥trengthen research excellence in partner countries;

鈥stablish long-term links between the best research groups and networks in partner countries and the UK.

Applications may address any subject within the natural sciences, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering, agricultural, biological and medical research, the scientific aspects of archaeology, geography and experimental psychology, and clinical or patient-oriented research.

Applicants from Brazil, China, Mexico and South Africa may apply, with a co-applicant from the UK. The applicant must be working as an independent researcher at an overseas institution and must not have more than 15 years of post-doctoral research experience. All applicants must have a PhD or equivalent research experience, and hold a permanent or fixed-term contract in an eligible university, academic research organisation or publicly-funded or non-profit research institution. Female applicants are encouraged to apply.

Fellowships are worth up to 拢37,000 per year for up to three years. Matched funding may be available from certain countries. Funding covers salaries, publication costs, research support, the cost of organising conferences and workshops, travel, subsistence and training expenses.
