The Kan Tong Po Programme is for UK or US-based scientists to collaborate with Hong Kong-based academics based at University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the City University of Hong Kong or the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Applicants may request up to of £3,000 for one-off travel lasting up to 3 months. Further information can be found in the Kan Tong Po programme scheme notes.

The Standard Programme is available for travel to/from all countries outside the UK. The funding available is dependent upon the length of the visit. Applicants may request:
up to of £3,000 for one-off travel lasting up to 3 months
up to £6000 for multiple visits to be completed within 1 year (including a maximum of £1000 for research expenses)
up to £12,000 for multiple visits to be completed within 2 years and cost share projects fixed at 2 years (including a maximum of £2000 for research expenses)

Aims to provide financial support for early-career researchers to undertake an international research placement to strengthen links for future collaboration, build research capacity in developing economies, and enhance the researcher's career opportunities. Applications can be submitted for collaborations between the UK and Israel. Researchers that reside in the UK can apply for funding to visit a university or research institution in Israel, and those residing in Israel can apply for funding to come to the UK. Duration of visit: 1-6 months depending on the country. Priority areas: Partner countries may specify priority areas and will only accept applications within these. Newton Institutional Links aims to build UK-partner country research and innovation collaborations centred on shared research and innovation challenges which have direct relevance to social welfare and economic development.

This programme is designed to establish links beyond the level of the individual researcher and innovation practitioner, opening up opportunities for more sustainable, solution-oriented collaborations between academic groups as well as with the private and third sector (e.g. SMEs, NGOs, technology transfer offices and other not-for-profit organisations).

These grants are funded under the , a UK Government initiative funded by the UK Department for 糖心TV, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), together with partner funders from around the world. The Fund aims to promote the economic development and welfare of either the partner countries or, through working with the partner country, to address the problems of low-income and vulnerable populations.

• Size of grant: £50,000 - £300,000
• Priority areas: Partner countries may specify priority areas and will only accept applications within these. Priority areas are listed in the guidelines document (downloads section).
• ODA requirement: All applications must meet the required relevance to economic development or social welfare (see guidelines for further information) of the partner country.

PARTNER COUNTRIES

Applications can be submitted for collaborations between the UK and Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines and Thailand.
