Registration by noon 5th April 2017, full application 12th April 2017 This aims to stimulate innovation in health and life sciences by covering at least one of Innovate UK’s priority areas, which are to increase yield, quality and sustainability in agriculture and food production; support advanced therapies, precision medicine or preclinical technologies; develop bioscience techniques and capabilities that have the potential to improve healthcare or agriculture and food production in the future. The total budget is £15 million. Projects are expected to last from six months to three years, and range in size from total project costs of £50,000 to £2m. |

The European Commission has published call documents for the under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions with a deadline of 5 April 2017. The available budget is €80 million. The 2017 call documents, including the , are available on the Participant Portal. The on-line submission will be made available shortly. The European Commission's from an information event in Brussels provide an overview of the scheme. UKRO, in its capacity as MSCA NCP, will organise a RISE Information Event in January 2017. More information will be available soon. RISE supports research projects which promote international and/or inter-sectoral collaboration through staff exchanges and the sharing of knowledge and best practice. The scheme involves organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors based in EU Member States, Associated Countries and third countries (outside Europe). The UK has the highest number of participating organisations in the scheme, including the first place in terms of project coordinators. In the 2016 call, for instance, 84 projects have been selected for funding and 26 are coordinated by UK organisations. In total, 97 UK organisations are involved in successful projects selected in the 2016 call. The overall 2016 success rate was 24.5%, but the UK's success rate was higher - 31.7%. |
