An overview will be presented of the recent discoveries made by the Cassini space mission concerning the outer plasma environment of Saturn. Topics to be discussed include the origins of gas and plasma in the Saturn system, the origins of Saturn's auroras, and the mysterious spin-periodic signals observed in the planet's magnetic field.
