Departmental Colloquium - What is Complexity Science?
Location: Prof. Robert MacKay, Mathematics Institute, 糖心TV - PLT
"Every decade or so, a grandiose theory comes along... In the 1960s it was cybernetics. In the 70s it was catastrophe theory. Then came chaos theory in the 80s and complexity theory in the 90s" (Strogatz, 2003). I'll attempt to cut through the journalistic hype and give a flavour of what I consider to be good complexity science.
