The Royal Society, via the Newton Fund, invites applications for the Newton mobility grants. These enable researchers from Brazil, Thailand and Turkey to visit or send staff and and partner with their UK hosts and the wider UK research and innovation community. Activities must be related to a subject within the natural sciences, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering, agricultural, biological and biomedical research, the scientific aspects of archaeology, geography and experimental psychology, but excluding social science, and clinical or patient-oriented research. Collaborations should be based on a single project.

Researchers based in Brazil, Thailand and Turkey may apply in collaboration with a UK-based co-applicant. All applicants must have completed a PhD or have equivalent research experience, and hold a permanent or fixed term contract for the duration of the award at an eligible university or research institute.

The following types of grants are available:

鈥p to 拢3,000 for one-off travel lasting up to three months;

鈥p to 拢6,000 for multiple visits to be completed within one year, including a maximum of 拢1,000 for research expenses;

鈥p to 拢12,000 for multiple visits to be completed within two years, including a maximum of 拢2,000 for research expenses.
