The American Physical Society invites nominations for the Francis M Pipkin award. This honours research by a young scientist in the interdisciplinary area of precision measurement and fundamental constants, and encourages the wide dissemination of the results of that research.
Scientists who have held their PhD degree for not more than 15 years are eligible for this award, which is given biennially every odd-number year*. Any APS member, not a member of the award selection committee, may submit a nomination. Nominations of qualified women, members of underrepresented minority groups and scientists from outside the US are especially encouraged.
The award consists of USD 2,000 plus support of travel expenses to the APS meeting.
* This is advertised as being open in 2018 with no clarity about whether the award will tenable 2019, being na odd-numbered year.
