Events in Physics
The Royal Society and the Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology invite applications for the cost share programme of their international exchanges scheme. This stimulates new collaborations within the natural sciences between scientists in the UK and Taiwan, with the aim of building lasting networks and strengthening emerging collaborations. Eligible subjects covered include physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering, geography, experimental psychology and agricultural, biological and medical research.
Collaborations should be based on a single project involving the UK based applicant and the Taiwanese co-applicant. The UK applicant must apply to the Royal Society and the Taiwanese applicant must apply to MOST. Both applicants must have completed a PhD or have extensive experience at an equivalent level at the time of application, and must hold a permanent or fixed term contract in an eligible university or research institution in their respective countries. Retired scientists, who are still active in science, may apply. Junior scientists, such as PhD students or postdoctoral researchers, are encouraged to participate.
The Royal Society provides up to 拢12,000 for the UK team鈥檚 airfare to Taiwan and the Taiwanese team鈥檚 subsistence while in the UK. An additional 拢12,000 is available from MOST towards the Taiwanese team鈥檚 airfare to the UK and the UK team鈥檚 subsistence while in Taiwan. Awards are available for a fixed period of two years.
