Events in Physics
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, in collaboration with the University of Southampton, invites proposals for its silicon photonics for future systems programme innovation fund. This enables researchers to directly or indirectly contribute to the following areas of interest:
•water-scale testing of photonic components;
•multilayer 3D photonic platform;
•novel silicon photonics modulator architectures and coding formats for high capacity transmission;
•advanced packaging solutions in silicon photonics;
•integrated optical sources.
UK-based academic research groups or individuals may apply.
The total budget is worth up to £100,000 and may be awarded to a single proposal or distributed among several proposals. Grants are funded at 80 per cent full economic cost and cover any directly incurred costs, such as research staff time, consumables and travel to project partners.
