Astronomers awarded 'Into Change' award

Astronomers Professor Andrew Levan and Professor Danny Steeghs, founding members and part of the key committees, have been awarded the award which honours outstanding European research that drives scientific breakthroughs.

The team have shown how the universe's heaviest elements are forged in rare and powerful involving neutron stars, known as kilonovae, and their results were recently showcased in our annual Christmas Lectures.
